Marine Disasters

The schooner International has gone to pieces on Salmon Point, Lake Erie. She had on board a cargo of corn, put on at this port for Kingston. The cargo is insured for $11,000, freight list for $4,500, and the hull for $8,000.

The bark Great West No. 1 is ashore on Colchester Point, Lake Erie.

The schooner Kelpie is on the beach, near Muskegon, with a load of lumber.

Other disasters are reported, but we have not learned particulars.

The following items we take from The Buffalo Courier, of the 7th inst.:

We understand that the schooner Almira went ashore yesterday, during the storm, near Oswego.

Captain Dobbins sent a wrecking expedition yesterday to Erie for the purpose of raising the schooner Genoa, sank off there.

The schooners Wings of the Morning and Marion Eagan fouled each other while entering Port Colborne harbor during the storm yesterday. Both vessels drifted ashore; the former vessel was badly damaged. We are without further particulars.

The board of Lake Underwriters report schooner Anna Maud is ashore at Wellington, Lake Ontario. It is also reported that two vessels are ashore on Long Point, Lake Ontario. Their names are not yet known.

SCHOONERS R. J. SKIDMORE AND MARY BOOTH.--These two vessels, laden with lumber, made the harbour yesterday about 1 o'clock p.m., and their arrival was watched by hundreds of anxious spectators. The captains of both vessels displayed most excellent skill in the management of their crafts. At one time the R. J. Skidmore was straining heavily in the trough of the sea (everybody expecting to see her go ashore), and part of her deck load of lumber was washed overboard.
