Detroit Line

DETROIT LINE.--The new steamer Morning Star is now running regularly on the Cleveland and Detroit Line. She is commanded by that experienced sailor and perfect gentleman, Capt. Viger, lately of the May Queen, than whom there is no greater favorite among Lake captains. The Morning Star is a capacious boat, of handsome model, and a swift sailor. She had the Ocean's engine, and a new boiler made by the Detroit Locomotive Works. The hull of the Ocean, by the way, has been sold for $1,500, to be used as a lumber barge. The dimensions of the new steamer are as follows : length 250 ft.width, 34 ft., debth [sic], 14 ft. She was brought out so hurriedly that her painting is not fully completed, but when it is, she will present a handsome appearance both inside and out. The May Queen, still of the line, is commanded by Capt. Wm. McKay, who is well fitted for the post.
