Those present enjoyed every minute of this delightful evening of memories, and we thank Captain John for sharing them with us. As we begin a new year and a new decade, we would like to thank all those who help to make "Scanner" possible. John Bascom provides office space, an swers correspondence, and is the master of the postage meter. Bill Wilson and Gordon Turner do the stapling and mailing, and David Bull produces the mailing labels on his computer. Then there are all those members who keep us supplied with marine news, clippings, etc., without which we would be lost. We appreciate the support of each and every one of you. In the New Member Department, a hearty welcome goes out to Frank Kovach of Thunder Bay, to Mrs. H. G. Mountain, Sr., of Chatsworth, to Howard Fairwea ther of Toronto, to Paul Hallam of Don Mills, to Frank Bravener of Port Do ver, and to William A.
