ALTADOC - cont'd. 14 . assortment of press reports prepared in a time when electronic communica tions were in their infancy, and when newspaper reporters could take a good deal of liberty in compiling their accounts, particularly if they were not actually present at the site of the happening. We wish to express our sincere thanks to Mr. Gonyou for allowing us to use his material and the photo in this follow-up to our feature, and to our com mittee member, John Leonard, for making the necessary arrangements. * * * * * LAY-UP LISTINGS In the February issue, we presented the lay-up listings which we had avail able for most of the ports of the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River. Considering the amount of material to be gathered, checked and put into some sort of logical (? ) order, it is not surprising that a few vessels were mis sed. Contribution to this situation was the fact that some ships did not lay up until very late in the season (or perhaps we should say early in the New Year). To keep the record straight, we present herewith the corrections and addi tions to the original list, and we hope that our readers will find them to be useful. For their assistance with the additional detail, or for reports received after we went to press in February, we extend our sincere thanks to Jim Hoffman, Cy Hudson, George Lee, Dan McCormick, Terry Sechen and Ken Voss. St. Joseph de la Rive: Add J. A. Z . DESGAGNES and JACQUES DESGAGNES. Quebec: We do not have a full listing, but should note MATHILDA DESGAGNES as wintering there. Sorel: Add NANCY ORR GAUCHER. Snell Lock (Seaway): 8TH SEA, LEWIS CASTLE, MASCOUTAH (ex. USN/YTB 772), MENASHA (ex. USN/YTB 773). ROBINSON BAY (all at SLSDC marine base). Toronto: To supplementary list of vessels, add GLENMONT (tug). Cleveland: Add AMERICAN REPUBLIC. Catawba Peninsula (west of Marblehead): W. C. HARMS (tug), STEVEN H. (former ly MASSEY D.). Toledo: Add GEMINI. Monroe: LUDINGTON (tug), VENTURE (tug), J. WILKINSON (dredge), WOLVERINE (tug). South Chicago: Add BUCKEYE, J. B. FORD, OLIVE L. MOORE (tug). Milwaukee: Add JUPITER (operating intermittently). For CASON J.CALLAWAY in previous listing, read PHILIP R. CLARKE. The CALLAWAY was correctly listed as wintering at Superior. Menominee: Delete BUCKEYE, OLIVE L. MOORE (tug). And if we did not receive a lay-up list from Y O U , we hope that we willhear from you when we go through this exercise again next winter... * * * * * CANADIAN FLEETS ALONG THE SEAWAY That is the title of a book recently produced by T.
