This not only is because we managed to keep our expenses at almost the same level as in the previous year, but also because our income increased significantly. While bank interest rates cont inued to plummet, the exchange rate paid on U . S. funds rose dramatically. We also were able to raise funds through the sale of items from the c ollection of our late member, "Scotty" McCannell. The most s pectacular item of income, however, comes from the sale of tickets for our draw for a freighter trip d o n a t e d to the cause by G . L . B. C. Inc. It is this item w h i c h enables us to show a profit on the year, and to increase our bank ba lance rather significantly. Accordingly, we are able to enter the 1993-1994 fiscal year with no increase in membe r s h i p fees, w hich remain at what we consider to be a most reas onable level. We will continue to seek ways to control expenses and for a start we will cease m a i l i n g m e m b e r s h i p cards to any but new members. We will continue to sell items from the McC a n n e l l collection, and hope to have some other i n teresting m a t e r i a l s for sale as well. In addition, we will attempt to find other ways to increase revenue and we shall report to you in this respect as our plans develop. On behalf of all members of T . M . H . S., we extend sincere thanks to Bill Wilson for his efforts in looking after the Society's books and accounts for yet another year. The job of Treasurer can be frustrating at times and we
