The Whig reported in 1890 that Cantin was building this vessel, the largest grain vessel they had ever produced, for the Kingston & Montreal Forwarding Co. She came to Montreal Transportation Co. when they took over Kingston & Montreal Forwarding Co. She then served mainly in the Lake Ontario coal trade. She was repaired in 1915. She was lost when she hit the east pier at the entrance to North Fairhaven New York (Sodus Bay) on 9 May 1916. There was no insurance.
