Wilson, Treasurer 5th September, 1999 Editor's Note to the Financial Statement: It gives us pleasure to present for the members' inspection the financial report for the fiscal year 1998-1999 for the Toronto Marine Historical So ciety. It will be noted that there was an increase in our bank balance over the year, albeit a very modest one. Accordingly, no increase in the member ship fees need be considered for the 1999-2000 season. Our overall income decreased slightly over the year, but the Society's dis bursements also decreased. Minett Photographic, the longtime producer of our "Scanner" covers and photopages, retired from business during the year, after 31 years of service to T. M. H. S., and Pronto Reproductions has taken on that work, in addition to producing the printed body of "Scanner". The re sults, so far, have been very good. But it can be seen that memberships alone do not cover the cost of producing "Scanner", and hence our plan for another silent auction in the spring of 2000. We also have secured meeting space at a more reasonable cost. We trust that the members will find this financial statement satisfactory. As always, we extend sincere thanks to Bill Wilson, for tending to the books of the Society for another year, as well as for receiving memberships and for serving as facilities and menu arranger for the Annual Dinner Meeting.
