Wilson, Treasurer 8th September, 2000 Editor's Notes to the Financial Statement: It gives us pleasure to present for the members' inspection the financial report for the fiscal year 1999-2000 for the Toronto Marine Historical So ciety. It will be noted that there was a modest increase in our bank balance over the year. Accordingly, no increase in the membership fees needed to be considered for the 2000-2001 season. Our overall income increased over the year, but this was not due to member ships. The remarkable results of the silent auction, together with sales of other donated materials at the meetings, increased exchange on U. S. funds, and a better result from the May Dinner Meeting all combined to produce re cord income. Expenses, however, also increased. This was the first full year that Pronto Reproductions printed both our photopages and the printed body of "Scanner", and one issue contained four sides of photos. Postage rates never decrease, and we continue to appreciate the efforts of members who de liver "Scanner" in their local areas. We plan to have another silent auction in the spring, but we need to work on increasing our membership base. The members are encouraged to show "Scanner" to their friends and seek to have them join our happy group. We trust that the members will find this financial statement satisfactory. As always, we extend sincere thanks to Bill Wilson for tending to the books of the Society for another year, as well as for receiving memberships and for serving as facilities and menu arranger for the Annual Dinner Meeting.
