Description
Full Text

The schooner Grey Eagle bound from Toledo to Oswego with 4000 bushels of wheat came ashore east of the pier at the mouth of the Genesee. The Grey Eagle put in here last Tuesday and stayed until Saturday P. M. She then sailed but the wind being from the eastward, the Capt., resolved to put back into the Genesee. In attempting to make the harbor the vessel struck the east pier, sprung a leak and was beached outside the pier in a sinking condition. The crew were saved. The cargo of course, is lost but it is thought that the vessel might be saved.
