Sunk in Mud Bay.

The tug Truscott lies sunk in Mud Bay, the accident occurring during the northeast gale of Monday. The Truscott had repaired to Mud Bay after getting out of the ice in Baileys Harbor and was lying at anchor when the northeast wind drove in a large filed of anchor ice. The Truscott's anchor gave way to the heavy strain and she was carried on the beach with the ice. To prevent her from pounding to pieces on the bottom, she was scuttled, but the heavy undertow and bold shore carried her from the beach and she sank in ten feet of water. Her pilothouse and smokestack have been carried away by the ice, and if nothing is done very soon she will become a total loss.

The Truscott had been icebound in Baileys Harbor for upwards of two weeks previous to her going to Mud Bay.
