The steel bulk freighter CALDERA (US.2C&-86M was built by the West Bay City Shipbuilding Company in 1908 as its hull #173, for the Croxton Steamship Company of Bay City, Dimensions of this vessel are 50*+ x x 3O5 gross tonnage, 6,2385 net, in 1912, management of this vessel was taken over by A, T. Kinney or Cleveland, and in 1919, she was renamed A, T. KINNEY. She sailed in the Kinney Fleet until the middle Thirties when several of the Kinney freighters including the A. T. KINNEY were transferred to the Wilson Transit Company. In July I960, this ship was sold to the Reoch interests of Owen Sound, Ontario. New name ejwtea. The triple expansion engines of 23, 36, and 59 inch cylinders by b2 inch stroke were built by Detroit Shipbuilding Company's Dry Dock Engine Works.
