- Notes
- Widely known early day steamer on the Oshkosh, Wis. and New London run on the Wolf-Fox waterway. In 1876 it carried Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman, then of St.Louis, Mo. to the Winneconne duck hunting area. Also used in carrying many settlers along the waterways to new homes in the interior of the state; involved with Mike Golden, as captain, in Bay Boom lumbering incidents. Information from undated, unnamed newspaper accounts in Neff scrap books, based on H.C.Doman's accounts in the Antigo Journal (Earle S. Holman), and on an article based on information from Fred Klaus, of Winneconne. Both articles possibly from The Milwaukee Journal.
