The wooden steamer, Venezuela, of 2125 gross tons; 263.3' x 40.7 x 20' depth; crew of 20; 800 h.p.; built 1897, West Bay City, Mich. Owned by Charles S. Neff, Milwaukee, Wis. from 1913 until the 1920s. Carried pulpwood, coal, grain, salt. The Venezuela ended her days in a bone yard near Sandusky, Ohio. A snapshot taken by Harold H. Neff, May 31, 1940, shows only an outline of a boat in the water. Listed Inland Lloyds Vessel Register,1893; Ship Masters' Assoc. Directory,1903, and on.
