JAN/FEB, 1973 earpieme MEMBERSHIP NOTES We are sure that members will be pleased to know, as are your Board and the Officers to report, that 1972 was the greatest year the Institute has ever enjoyed from the standpoint of growth. More new members were taken in than in any previous year, and our income, both from regular membership dues and sustaining memberships, surpassed all previous records. In spite of rising costs it has been possible for us to hold the line on costs to members, and while almost all other organizations have felt it was necessary to raise dues, we have been able to continue the same schedule of payments. Considerable credit must be given to sustaining memberships for making this possible. The only crack that appears in the dike is in the matter of foreign member- ships. Postal costs have risen to the point that we now spend more than a dollar of a foreign member's dues on postage and mailing costs. It is quite possible that we will be forced to raise foreign dues next year. All things considered, 1972 was a good year. We hope you'11 see fit to make every effort to help make 1973 even better! rs MEETING DATES Entertainment meetings will be held at 8 PM, at the Dossin Museum, on the following dates with programs as noted: January 26, 1973, Captain C.
