VWP/OCWw, 1976 Page 118 MEMBERSHIP NOTES Well, we've had a chance to try it again, and we have to admit that the idea of having the Museum open is pleasant! We agree, and so, apparently does the public, judging by the number of visitors we've been enjoying. As we told you in the last issue, the Museum was reopened for June, July and August for vertain, and we're sure this time will have been extended by the time you read this. At this writing it appears that some sort of seasonal schedule will evolve whereby we'1l be open full time during the mid-summer months, part time (probably weekends only) during the spring and fall, and closed during the depths of winter. This makes a certain amount of sense, and while, of course, we would prefer to be open full time the year around as we were for so many years, if we must cut back this approach seems to work the least amount of hardship in the greatest number of cases. We wish we could give you more certain information on our future hours and days of operation, but at this point we just aren't sure. Suffice that at the moment we are open, and that's progress! H MEETING NOTICES The Annual Institute Dinner Meeting is being held on September 17th, and it would be a safe guess that if you haven't obtained reservations by now you are too late. The Harmonie Club, scene of so many of these events in the past, closed down after we had made plans for the 1976 dinner, and it became necessary to find a new location. The site picked was the Detroit Boat Club, and we look forward to a stirling event. The next entertainment meeting at the Dossin Museum is scheduled for November 19 (to avoid the Thanksgiving day weekend) and the program will be announced later. Business meetings, to which all members are invited, will be held at the Dossin Museum, at 8:00 PM, on October 22, and on January 7, 1977. m CONTENTS Membership notes, meeting notices, etc. 118 The Delphine..A Relic That Lives Frank Crevier 119 Special Color Print of Delphine 128 The M/V Ottawa (1914) Edward N..
