Three have been called the New York News. Q & O traces its roots to the Ontario Trans- portation and Pulp Company. It had been incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ontario Paper Company on January 22, 1914. In 1933 the name was changed to the Quebec and Ontario Transportation Com- pany to recognize the involvement of both of these Canadian provinces in the company's fortunes. The parent company of Ontario Paper, The NEW YORK NEWS (i) could carry one thousand cords of wood to the Q&O plant in Thorold. Photo by Jim Roberts
