The Cleveland Tankers GEMINI was upbound in the lower Detroit River when a 35 foot wooden cabin cruiser cut across her bow and was smashed to pieces. The four men aboard were thrown into the river. They were rescued by two fishermen who were nearby. The GEMINI stopped and offered assistance then proceeded up to the Belle Isle Anchorage to wait for a Coast Guard inspection.
