SALE OF LAKE ONTARIO STEAMERS.--We find the following in relation to the sale of the American Company's steamers on Lake Ontario.

The steamboat arrangements on Lake Ontario will next season be materially changed. The American Steamboat Company has sold its boats and will dispose of its other property, and retire from the Lake. The Royal Mail Steamboat Company of Canada has recently purchased the steamers Bay State, Ontario, Cataract and Lord Elgin, and they will soon be formally delivered. All these boats but the Bay State are now lying in our harbor, and she is making semi-weekly trips along the south shore. The Royal Mail Company has also purchased, it is said, the steamer Corinthian, a British boat, running between this and the north shore ports opposite. The Corinthian was built in the style of the Royal Mail boats, so as to pass the St. Lawrence canals, and the owner, Mr. Gildersleeve, no doubt contemplated putting her into that line at some future day. It is understood that she will be transferred to the Mail line in the spring and that another boat will take her place on the route to this port.
