The Dominion Atlantic Ry. is adding a twin-screw $200,000 steel steamer to their Bay of Fundy service. She will be one of the finest steamers in the Canadian coasting trade. Notwithstanding the fact that business generally is not brisk, the Garlock Packing Co. finds it necessary to run their plant over time to keep up with their orders which they are filling promptly. The Detroit Graphite Mfg. Co., of Detroit, Mich., has recenty eae quired the title to the graphite mines in Horthetl Michigan from which they have been making their Superior graphite paint. The ore from this mine produces the best pigment for paint so far found. This pigment is reduced to a fineness never before obtained from graphite and none of the graphitic carbon is taken from it to be used for other purposes. It is unassailable by acids, or chemicals of any kind and is of an absolute uniform quality. The Superior graphite paint made by this company. has obtained an enviable popularity for use on vessels.
