On. each crank the hubs will be 28-in. diameter by 10% in. long for the main journal, and 18-in. diameter by 9-in. long for the crank-pin. A steam reversing en- gine will be fitted. There will be six boilers arranged in three batteries of one, two and three boilers respectively. Each boiler will be of the Mississippi river type, 44 in. ins'de diameter, 30 ft. long, and with five rivetted flues, 3 upper, 10-in., and two lower ll-in., outside diameters. They will be built for a working pres- sure of 170 lbs. per square inch. Each battery will have a steam drum, 30-in. diameter, connected to each boiler by a dee I2in. diameter. The three steam-drums will each be connected to a cross steam-main or header, 16- in. diameter, by a 10-in. pipe fitted with a 10-in. gate-valve with by-pass. There will be two muddrums, each 16-in. diameter, connected with each boiler! by a leg, 8-in. diameter, and the boilers in each battery will be con- nected by chock-pipes 6-in. diameter, about 2 ft. from the after end. The pumping machinery will consist of one main boiler feed pump, walking beam type, with two hot and two cold-water plungers, of ample dimen- sions to supply the boilers when the pump is running at a rate not exceed- ing 17 revolutions per minute. The steam cylinder will be equivalent to 10-in. diameter by 24-in. stroke. There will be one auxiliary feed and general service pump, with steam cylinder 9-in. diameter, water cylinders 5-in. diameter, by 10-in. stroke. Beneath the after end of the single-ended boil- er will be placed a duplex donkey pump, a vertical coil heater being con- nected to the pump and boiler.
