Bids are now being invited by the Navy Department for the con- struction of battleships Nos. 40, 41 and 42. The Smooth-On Manufacturing Co., 572-574 Communipaw avenue, Jersey City, N. J., manufacturers of Smooth- On iron cements and compounds, have just published Instruction Book No. 7, devoted exclusively to the use of its iron cement for hardening, water- proofing and _ oil-proofing concrete. This book gives full directions for the application of the compound for brick or stone work, stopping leaks in con- crete, and contains many testimonials from users of it. The book is well illustrated and will be sent to any- one upon application.
