TO RUN INTO NORTH PORT BAY. From Skillegolee Lighthouse SSW 374 miles, until abreast of Traverse Point Lighthouse; thence along the shore until Rose's Dock bears W4S, and run in on this course. 'In leaving the bay, bound for Chicago, run round Traverse Point at a distance of 14 miles, and after passing the Lighthouse steer SW4W 44 miles, to abreast of Cat Head Point; thence - SWiW, to abreast of Sleeping Bear Point, 29 miles; thence SSW 17 miles, to Point Betsey (flash light) ; thence eee 221 miles, for Chicago. There is good holding ground 14 to 2 miles due north from Traverse Bay Lighthouse, in 5 to 6 fathoms water; and also under the point to the southward and eastward of it, in 64 fathoms. A shoal sets off from the point east of the Lighthouse about 4 mile, with 12 feet water on the end of it. | NORTH MANITOU ISLAND Has two wood docks, one on each side of the island; and good holding ground can be found on the east side of the island, near the dock, in from 6 " 10 fathoms.
