Cat Fish Oreek is 10 miles from Port Burwell; has 7 to 9 feet over the bar, has 1 pier on the west side with a light on the end of 'it, but is no place to run to for refuge, except for small vessels. Between Long Point Cut and Port Burwell there are two piers, with lumber under the sand hills. Long Point upper gap is closed ; up and the lightship taken away. SW2W 44 miles; run on this course 4 miles further, until * Point Pelee Island Lighthouse bears W4N and Point Pelee NNEZE ; thence NWbyW2W 44 miles, to the entrance of Detroit River, with Bois Blanc Island Lighthouse bearing N3E 84 miles. On this route you leave the middle ground to starboard. ._The bottom off Point Pelee is sand; and along the east side of the island the bottom is rocky, but can be approached in 4 fathoms with safety. The new Lighthouse on the dummy at Point au Pelee can be passed spretty close to in rounding the point.
