Southwest gales of any duration lower the water in Detroit river from 1 to 3 feet, and northeast gales raise it about as much. Cur- rent from 1 to 2} miles per hour. Until the Lime-kilns have been crossed, this channel is in Canadian water. To enter the river. When 1} milesS. by W. from Bois Blanc light, and in range with Detroit River light, steer N. by E. 3 E. into the river. : 3 BOIS BLANC, OR AMHERSTBURG LIGHT-STA- TION.--A fixed white light, visible 14 miles. White, circular stone tower, 40 feet high, light 56 feet above lake level. Onlower end of Bois Blanc island. . Bois Blane. Range (front).--A fixed white light. White, Square, open-frame 'tower, light 26 feet above lake level. On _ northeast point of island. Bois Blanc Range (rear).--A fixed red light.
