The Straight Cut at the Lime-kiln Crossing.--This very important improvement is so far advanced that the channel will be given up to commerce on the opening of navigation. When within about 300 yards of the light- house, bear to eastward slightly to clear Mamajuda shoal, and when 700 yards above the light, the range between it and Grassy island may again be taken.
