W. 4S. from Sunken Rock light-house, in" place of Sunken Rock black spar buoy, No. 17. Feather-Bed Shoal Gas Buoy.--A black gas buoy, showing a fixed white light, varied by white flash every 10 seconds, was estab- lished on the easterly side of the channel of the St. Lawrence river, in 17 feet of water, on the westerly edge of a rocky shoal between Carleton island and Cape Vincent, and about 1 mile 8S.S. W. 4 W. from the southwesterly point of Carleton island, in place of Feather-Bed Shoal black spar buoy, No. 25. Galloo Island Light-Station.--A 10-inch steam whistle has been established at this station, on the southwesterly end of Galloo island, easterly end of Lake Ontario, to sound, during thick or foggy
