JOSEPH PIERHEAD LIGHT-STATION. stax has been established at this station, on the north pier at the entrance to St. Joseph Harbor, a 10-inch steam whistle, to sound, during thick or foggy weather, blasts of 3 seconds' duration separated by silent inter- vals of 17 seconds, thus: Silent Silent Blast interval Blast interval 3 sec. 17 sec. 3 sec. 17 sec, The fog signal building is a brown corrugated iron structure and stands immediately in rear of the light tower on the pierhead. The fog bell heretofore sounded at this station ne thick or foggy weather has been discontinued. RACINE PIERHEAD LIGHT-STATION.--A fixed red light of the sixth order has been reestablished in the old pierhead light tower recently remowed to a point, on the outer end of the extended N. pier, about 950 feet to the eastward of Racine (Root River) light-house, entrance to the harber of Racine. The focal plane of the light will be 354 feet above mean lake level. With Racine (Root River) Light (white) the new light will guide clear to the northward of Racine Reef, by keeping the white light open to the northward of the new red light. The fixed red lantern light shown at a point about 800 feet to the eastward of Racine (Root River) Light has been discontinued. The fog signal is a bell suspended from a frame in front of pierhead tower, struck by machinery during thick or foggy Weubes, a single pian every 20 seconds. SHEBOYGAN PIERHEAD LIGHT-STATION. pia has been established at this station, near the outer end of the north pier at the entrance to Sheboygan Harbor, west side of Lake Michigan, a 10- inch steam whistle to sound, during thick or foggy weather, blasts of 4 seconds, separated by silent 'intervals of 26 seconds' duration, thus: | Silent Silent Blast interval Blast interval sec. 26 sec. 4 sec. 26 sec.
