NORTHPORT SHOAL.--A red, steel, cylindrical gas buoy, sur- mounted by a pyramidal steel frame supporting a lantern showing a white light, occulted at short intervals, has been established, in 16 feet of water, on the southerly side of Northport Shoal, Bay of Quinte. The illuminant is acetylene gas, generated automatically. | TORONTO EAST PIER RANGE FRONT LIGHT STATIONS. The intensity of the light at this station has been increased by changing -- from a 6th to a 4th order light. The light is now fixed red 6 seconds, separated by eclipses of 4 seconds' duration. The illuminant is incandescent oil vapor. GIBRALTAR POINT LIGHT STATION.--This light reported per- mantly discontinued has been relighted. FAIR HAVEN FRONT RANGE LIGHT STATION.--The regular 4th order light has been established at this station. PORT DALHOUSIE FRONT RANGE LIGHT STATION.--A fog signal consisting of a compressed-air diaphone has been established at this station, to sound, during thick or foggy weather, blasts of 4 seconds" duration, separated by silent intervals of 26 seconds, thus: Silent Silent Blast interval Blast interval 4 sec. 26 sec. 4 sec. 26 sec. : The resonator elevated 28 feet above lake level, projects from north side of tower. STONY POINT LIGHT STATION.--tThe intensity of the light at tis Station has been increased by changing it from a fifth order to a fourth order light, and the characteristic from fixed white varied by a white flash every minute to a flashing white light every 5 seconds. PRESQUE ILE LIGHT STATION.--A fog signal consisting of a compressed-air diaphone has been established at this station, to sound during thick or foggy weather, blasts of 6 seconds' duration, separated by silent intervals of 60 seconds, thus: : : Silent Silent Blast: interval Blast interval 5. sec. 60 Sec. 6 SCC, OO sec. The fog-signal building stands 50 feet to the westward of the light- house. It is a rectangular wooden building with a high brick chimney; the sides of the building are painted white and the roof is red. The horn, elevated 24 feet above the level of the lake, projects from the south end of the building.
