Duluth Harbor Entrance.--Breakwater Buoy, 2.--A red spar buoy in 21 feet of water marks the southwest corner of the outer end of the old breakwater about 2,400 feet northerly from the outer end of the Duluth Ship Canal North Pier. St. Louis River.--Cut-off Channel Buoy.--A black spar buoy in 6 feet of water marks the southerly edge of the Cut-Off Channel above Grassy Point, St. Louis River, at its junction with the dredged ehaniel. St. Lows River Range Front Light, E. N. E. %4 E., 5,859: feet. Cut-Off Channel Buoy, 2.--A red spar buoy, in 6 feet of water marks the northerly edge of the Cut-Off Channel above Grassy Point, St. Louis River at its junction with the dredged channel. St. Louis River Range Front Light, E- No E14 Ey; 5,846 feet. : Cut-Off Channel Buoy, 3.--A black spar buoy in 8% feet of water marks the southerly edge of the Cut-Off Channel above Grassy Point, St. Louis River. Cut-Off Channel Buoy, 4.--A red spar buoy in 8% feet of water marks the northerly edge of the Cut-Off Channel above Grassy Point, St. Louis River. St. Louis River Range Front Light, E. N. E. % E., 7,418 feet. Thunder Bay--Welcome Islands.--A lighthouse has been erected on the northeast extremity of the eastern Welcome island, Thunder bay. The lighthouse stands on land 80 feet above the level of the lake and 150 feet back from the water's.edge. It consists 'of a square wooden dwelling, with an octagonal wooden lantern rising from the middle of its hip roof. It is painted white, with the roots red, and is 38 feet high from its base to the top of the ventilator on the lantern. , The light will be a fixed white light, elevated 112 feet above the level of the lake, and should be visible 16 miles from all points of approach by water. The illuminating apparatus is dioptric of the seventh order. Thunder Cape.--The fog alarm at Thunder cape light-station has been strengthened by the substitution of a diaphone, operated by compressed air, for the steam horn heretofore used. The diaphone will, during thick or foggy weather, give one blast of 3 seconds' duration every 30 seconds. The horn, elevated 23 feet above the level of the lake, projects from the south face of the fog alarm building. An extension 20 feet long has been built to the east side of the fog alarm building. Rouleau Point Range Lights.--Front Light.--This fixed white post- lantern light has been moved 50 feet E. and re-established, without change, on a small crib, about 34 mile to the northward of Rouleau Point. Rear Light--This fixed white post-lantern light has been moved 50 feet E. and re-established, without change in characteristic, 28 feet above mean lake level, on a white post with target, on shore, 450 feet (1-12 mile) N' 94° EOEN, BE by N.) tm Pear ofthe preceding. \
