CHANG#S AND ADDITIONS. 9 DOUBLE TOP LIGHT STATION.--The light shown from the light- house on Double Top rock, Western islands, has been changed from a fixed and flashing white light to a white light occulted at short intervals. The illuminating apparatus will be dioptric of the fourth order, and the -jlluminant acetylene. PARRY SOUND--RED ROCK LIGHT STATION.--The light shown from Red Rock lighthouse, in the approach to Parry Sound, has been changed from a fixed white catoptric light to a white light occulted at short intervals. The illuminating apparatus is dioptric of the fourth order, and the illuminant acetylene. : BREBEUF RANGE LIGHT STATION.--For the purpose of increas- ing the height of the light above the water, a square cribwork pier has been built under the lighthouse on the west shore of Beausoleil island, _ Georgian Bay, the back lighthouse of the Brebeuf range. The pier is 15 feet high, and the light is now elevated 55 feet above the level of the lake. STRAITS OF MACKINAC. Straits of Mackinac--New Shoal.--The characteristic of this light has been changed from fixed white to a fixed white light during periods of 10 seconds, separated by eclipses of 10 seconds. : 'Simmons Reef.--The characteristic of the light of this buoy has been changed from fixed white to a fixed white light during 10 seconds, sep- arated by eclipses of 10 seconds' duration. _ Zela Shoal.--This buoy has been changed from a third-class can to a second-class nun buoy. Old Mackinac Point W. %N. Point la Barbe N. W. by W. 3% W. Mackinac Island left tangent NW. 98 N. North Graham Shoal.--This buoy has been changed from a second- class can to a second-class nun, LAKE MICHIGAN. North Manitou Shoal, Southeast End.--The characteristic of the light of this gas buoy has been changed from fixed white to a fixed white light for 10 seconds separated by eclipses of 10 seconds' duration. Fisherman Shoal.--The characteristic of the light of this buoy has been changed from-fixed white to a fixed white light during periods of 10 sec- Ons separated by eclipses of 10 seconds. ST. MARTIN'S ISLAND LIGHT STATION.--Flashing red and white light interval between flashes 5 seconds, fourth order, visible 17 miles. Light 84 feet above lake level. White hexagonal steel tower surmounted by a circular gallery, with a black cylindrical lantern. Buff brick fog signal house, with red roof N. by W. 3% W. from tower and buff brick dwelling with red roof midway between fog signal building and tower. The fog sig- nal is a 10-inch steam whistle and during thick and foggy weather sounds sone of 3 seconds' duration, separated by silent intervals of 27 seconds, thus: Silent Silent Blast interval Blast interval 3 Sec. 21 sec, 3 sec. 27 sec.
