KEWAUNEE PIERHEAD LIGHT STATION.--The following changes have been made at this station. Front Light.--On the outer end of the pier, had its intensity increased by changing from a post-lantern to a sixth-order fixed red light, mdking -- it visible 814 miles in clear weather, and its height was increased to 42% feet above mean lake level. The elevated conduit was removed, and the light exhibited, without change in location, from a white, square, pyramidal, frame-work tower. ; : : Rear Light.--On the pier, 400 feet in rear of the preceding, was changed from a sixth-order to a lens-lantern light, fixed red, and was es- tablished, 64 feet above mean lake level, in the red, square, pyramidal, skeleton, metal tower recently erected directly in front of the fog-signal building, and about 200 feet shoreward of the former position of this light. The range shows the direction of the piers and the course for enter- ing the harbor. , : ? MILWAUKEE PIERHEAD LIGHT STATION.--The fourth order fixed red light at this station and the tower from which it is shown have been moved to the westward and established temporarily on the completed concrete pier adjacent to the light-keeper's dwelling, and a fixed red post- lantern light was established at the outer end of,the pierhead. The 10-inch steam whistle at this station was discontinued and the fog-signal house removed, and there has been established, on the outer end of the pier, a bell to be struck by machinery, during thick or foggy weather, a single and a double blow alternately, intervals 20 seconds. The bell is in a small white frame structure. MILWAUKEE BREAKWATER LIGHT STATION.--A fog signal consisting of a 10-inch steam whistle has been established at this station to sound during thick or foggy weather, blasts of 5 seconds duration separated by silent intervals of 55 seconds, thus: Silent : Silent Blast interval Blast interval 5 sec. : 55 see. See. a see, The fog-signal house is buff with a red roof. LUDINGTON NORTH PIERHEAD LIGHT-STATION.--A fixed red lens-lantern light on the outer end of the north pier at the entrance to Ludington Harbor. The light is suspended, 3% feet above mean lake level, from a metal post painted red... a HOLLAND (Black Lake) PIERHEAD RANGE REAR LIGHT STATION.--Fixed red lens-lantern light, on A post about 400 feet in rear of the pierhead light, and with it forms a range showing the direction for entering the harbor. ae : Calumet Harbor Light Station.--Fixed red lens-lantern light has been established, at this station, 23 feet above mean lake level.
