The image of the steamboat has WAITE on the paddle box, and is disproportionately small relative to the other elements of the scene. The only steamboat on the Great Lakes with WAITE in the name was the CHIEF JUSTICE WAITE which served Put-in-Bay in 1877. Photographs of it always show the full name on the paddle box.
