The manouvering performance was excellent. The pro- pelling machinery reversed from full-speed ahead to full-speed astern in twenty-two seconds, and was found very responsive to all bridge signals. De Vacuum averaged 29 inches throughout the trial. The Gears operated smoothly and quietly.
