14 MARINE REVIEW July, 1923 Installation of Bethle- hem (Dahl) swinging fur- nace fronts showing how valve pot head can be detached and opened to allow natural draft on forced draft installation. Easier handling— with the swing f hho: new Bethlehem (Dahl) swinging fur- nace front allows the burner tip and cone to be swung out and inspected, and permits ready accessibility to the furnace interior, without dis- mantling the front or disturbing the oil piping. ‘With natural draft all that is required is to un- latch the swinging door frame and swing it out and away. With forced draft, the air regulating pot head can be detached and the front opened, leaving the forced draft intake sealed. When in port and it: is desired to use natural draft only, the valve pot BETHLEHEM ing furnace front head can be detached and opened, allowing natu- ral draft intake of air without having to use the shutters in the forced draft ducts. The swinging furnace front contributes a very substantial degree of added ease and economy to the operation of the Bethlehem (Dahl) System. BETHLEHEM SHIPBUILDING CORPORATION, LTD. BETHLEHEM, PA.
