For the main propulsive power an 8-cylinder, 4-stroke cycle long stroke crosshead type Burmeister & Wain diesel engine was chosen. The indi- cated horsepower of this engine is 2250 at 93 revolutions per minute. The propelling machinery is located amidships and is of the makers’ standard type for single screw cargo carriers. The compressor which pro- vides the necessary air for injection of the fuel oil is directly coupled to the crankshaft and _ built together with the main engine. ih 4 sa!
