Six Carfloats Ordered American Brown Boveri Electric Corp. has been awarded a _ contract December, 1926 by the Reading company for six steel carfloats, two of these to be 250 feet long and the balance 200 feet. The molded beam of all these floats will be 34 feet 7 inches and the depth an even 9 feet. This contract is in addition to that recently received from the same company covering four single deck steel lighters which are now under construction. The new car- floats will be an important addition to the Reading company’s present fleet assigned to Philadelphia harbor service. All will be delivered com- plete within less than six months time.
