Outside hull, on deck, in quar- ters, in engine room and boiler room cleanliness and good order prevailed and practically no signs of deteriora- tion were noted. In other words it is apparent that this vessel has re- ceived excellent care and attention from her crew and her operators. For several years the ALGIC was un- der the operation of the Kerr Steam- ship Co. She is now under op- eration by the Roosevelt Steamship Co. as operators for the United States shipping board and runs in what is called the Atlantic, American India and Australian lines. Kermit Roosevelt is president of the com- pany. Six ships including the ALcIc are operated by the Roosevelt Steam- ship Co. to India for the United States shipping board.
