Oe iriep | ae CORANKSHAFTS for GREATER STRENGTH AND > SMOOTHER POWER All Cooper-Bessemer Diesel engine shafts are built to the specifications of both Lloyd’s and A. B.S., and are inspected, certified and stamped by the inspectors of these organizations. The size, strength, precision manufacture and certi- fication of these shafts characterizes the construction of Cooper-Bessemer Diesel engines throughout. The crankshafts of all Cooper-Bessemer Diesel engines are unusually large in diameter. Each shaft is forged from a solid billet of high-grade .30-.40 carbon steel, annealed, rough turned, heat treated, seasoned, re- centered and precision finished. These crankshafts being both over-size and over-strength will withstand the strains of the most severe service. Criticals within the operating range are eliminated. This high standard of manufacture assures you a power plant whose serviceability cannot be excelled —an engine that will perform both reliably and economically in any type of marine service.
