Agents for the Great Lakes, The Upson-Walton Company, Cleveland, Ohio Bids Wanted FERRY BOATS FOR GALVESTON-BOLIVER CHANNEL SERVICE —Sealed bids in duplicate will be received until 11 a. m., July 16th, 1934, for two Ferry Boats. Bidder may bid on one or both. The boats may be of new construction or of previous service. They are to be used in conjunc- tion with U-shaped landing slips adapted to approximate lengths of 100 ft. to 140 ft. and beam width up to 50 ft. Capacity of each boat shall be 20 to 30 standard automobiles. Draft loaded 6-1/2 to 7 ft. Economical working speed shall be 10 miles per hour. Power shall be some standard type of oil combustion engine and the boats shall be propeller drive front and rear (fore and aft), also ruddered fore and aft. They shall be so decked and arranged that vehicles will be protected from sea spray and may be loaded and unloaded at each end. The boats must be seaworthy and stable, capable of operating in the open waters in the Gulf of Mexico. They are to be furnished complete in every detail, ready to operate and complying with all maritime regulations for the waters at Galveston, Texas. Bidders on used boats shall state the date of construction and name of shipyard where built; class and type of service in which the boats were engaged. Give size, length, beam, capacity, kind of hull, wood, steel, etc., ane aug other details as may be deemed fit. Detailed specifications are esirable. Bidder shall state total price and date he expects to deliver the boats. Such date shall be preferably within thirty days after acceptance of bid. The Commissioners Court of Galveston County, Texas, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waives any informality in those received.
