a eT Oxweld (¢-24 CUTTING BLOWPIPE @ You can try the Oxweld C-24 Cutting Blowpipe on your own grounds. See for yourself whether these seven performance features make it your choice over all other makes. (1) Wide Range— The C-24 cuts everything from thin plate to steel slabs 12 in. thick. (2) Low or Medium Pressure—By Changing the mixer assembly you can use the C-24 for either medium pressure or low pressure acetylene, assuring maximum economy under any operating condition. (3) High- Efficiency Heating—C-24 preheating flames converge to a common center at a point that gives the best result for average work. (4) Resists Flashback—The inner parts of the C-24 are proportioned to produce a stable flame over its whole cutting range and operate smoothly with ex- ceptional resistance to flashback. (5) Less Oxygen Pressure—The C-24 cuts 10 in. stock with only 75 Ib. per square inch oxygen pressure and 6 in. stock with only 45 lb. (6) Light But Rugged—The C-24 weighs only 49 ounces, is perfectly balanced and is rugged enough to stand up under hard daily use. (7) Easy to Maintain— Working parts are simple, making the C-24 less likely to get out of order. MARINE REvieEw—August, 1934 WHY the Oxweld C-24 is a Better Cutting Blowpipe .. . Cutting Valve The C-24 cutting valve has no packing or stuff- ing box nuts. Instead a double flange rubber bushing is mounted on the valve stem. This feature is found in no other blowpipe. Oxweld Patented Seat Protector - Thechromium plated C-24 nozzles have patented conical seats which are so designed that they are not easily marred. Nozzle Drilling C-24 nozzles are drilled at a slight angle so that the heating flames meet the cutting oxygen jet at the point that is to be preheated. This makes a concentrated point of heat that insures a fast start and a clean kerf. Ball Needle Valves In the Oxweld ball seat needle valve the hard- ened, highly polished stainless steel ball frees itself of all particles that might prevent a gas tight seat. Rear Body All gas controlling parts of the C-24 are con- tained in the pressure forged rear body and not inside the handle. There are no adjustments to make.
