I was the night watchman for the company that scraped the Silverdale\Gleneagles.I went on board a lot before she was cut up.A sad end.

My father, Franklin Smeltzer worked on that ship.

if she is the same ssgleneagles that was switched over to a self unloader I sailed on her in 74

My grand father Tilley Cerutti was the wheelman from 1936 to 1983. Still have his discharge papers!

if that's the selfunloader one I was nite cook,deckhand ,watchman and wheelsman on her when tom bates was captain

My Dad (Keith) sailed on her and was almost swept off the deck during a storm on Superior. His older brother, Cliff, was able to keep him on board.
