A NEW LEVIATHAN, Some weeks ago we printed a detailed ac- count of Captain Davidson’s new steamship, George ‘I. Hope. We find the following paragraph relating to her in the Chicago Inter Ocean, September 20: The new. steamship George T. Hope ar- rived in Chicago yesterday, on her maiden trip, in command of Captain James Davidson, who is also not only the owner but the builder, [It is not often that a distinguished shipbuilder is also a distinguished navigator, but such is the case with Captain Davidson. ] ‘The new eraft is coal laden. = ‘The officers re- port that she behaved excellently on the passage, notwithstanding the fact that her new machinery is etiff yet. ‘lhe Hope re- sembles the Siberia in appearance, but is superior even to that craft, Great improve- ments have been made in the Hope over the Siberia, As she passed into the harbor vester- day she was gazed at by hundreds, The one opinion of all was that she is a magnificent craft, The experts were especially enthusi- | astic over her. THA'T’S SO! : Ordinarily he who buys second hand goods realizes, when it is too late, that he has made a bad mistake—but he who invests fifty cents in Swayne,s ointment does a wis thing, and the people of the world, (who ought to know everything) will say of him: “Ah! that man has a level head—-next win- ter we will place him in Congress.” Itching piles, barber’s itch, prairie itech, tetter, pim- ples and blotches, ringworm, salt rheum, erysipelas and other eruptions all flee its path. Ask your druggist for it. THE MARIN E RECORD.
