REPRINT MARINE HISTORICAL SOCIZIY OF DETROIT THE DETROIT MARINE HISTORIAN Volume 1, No. 1 September, 1947 ANNOUNCEMENT: Our Society's opening meeting will be held on Sept- ember 135th, at the Fort Malden Museum at Amherstburg, There will be a picnic dinner at 6:00 P.M. You are to bring your sandwiches and the like. Coffee will be served there for all. The meeting proper will convene at 8:00 with Dr, Neil Morrison of Windsor as Speaker. Dr. Morrison teaches Georgraphy at Walkerville Collegiate Institute, and is a prominent author, lecturer, radio speaker and columnist on historical topics. The titie of his address will be "Lauchlen Morrison, Captein on the Great Lakes." Invite your friends and acquaintances. We wish to get off to a good start this year. A Rev. Edward J, Dowling, S.Jd., Secretary. This sheet will, we hope, grow into a worthy volume to record the plans, achievements and common interest of our Society. The announcements for forthcoming meetings will appear as part of this paper.
