M. Our speaker of the evening will be a fellow member, Dr. R. Murray Muir. Since the Muir Ship- yard will celebrate its 100th Anniversary in 1950, the title ef Dr. Muir's paper is very appropréate. It is, "A Century of Progress in Lake Shipping, and the Part faken in it by the Muir Brothers Shipyard." Our speaker is one of the present generation of the Muir Brothers and is, naturally, very well informed on his subject. He will bring with him a selection of charts and other historical papers tc show us. We hepe that yeu plan to attend and bring your friends. Our guests are always welcome. When the 1950 calendar arrives, be certain to mark the evening of January 25th, and plan to attend our January meeting and hear Mr. Paul Sullivan tell us abeut the self- unloeders and other ships of the Pringle Barge Line Co. He was one of the best infermed and mest eutstending historians ef Greit Lakes Shipping, and was en active member of many historical societies, including The Marine Historical Society of Detrait. Besides ships, Mr. Brus! interests included early Cleveland history, the Ohie ccnals, stamp collecting 2nd music. He w2s photographer for the Cleveland Plain Desler for -lmost 40 yeirs. As our Society was honored in having = min of such wide »schievements 7s 1 member, sorwe 7re grieved at his passing.
