ANNOUNCEMENT: For the benefit of members who did not attend the March meet- ing, the vote on the question of revision of Constitutions resulted in a 50 to 2 choice in favor of the Revised Constitutions. Therefore, at the next election (June meeting) twelve members will be elected to the Advisory Council, four for a term of three years, four for two years, and four for one year. Also at the March meeting your President appointed a Nominating Committee to prepare a slate for this election. This Committee is composed of Messrs.Lowell Johnson, Keith Smith, John Goodrich, and Thomas Dancey. Members who wish to make nominations are strongly urged to do so. Candler & Bass expect their tug, the B.E.WEST to be finished with her current job at Buffalo, and will enter her. Several other local tug owners will be represented. Legisla- tion has been introduced in the House which would authorize the return of the freighters CORNWALL (ex STEELTON, ex HERBERT K.OAKES, ex MILLI- NOCKET), JOHNSTOWN (ex LEHIGH, ex WILLIAM A ROGERS) and SAUGON (ex J. LEONARD REPLOGLE, ex CHARLES WESTON) to service on the Lakes, These were originally destined for scrapping, having been replaced by the new LEHIGH (ex PILOT KNOB II, 1943) and new STEELTON (ex MESABI,1943).
