Dimensions 360 x 42, Speed 20 m.p.h.,Capacity, 5000 people. Built for World's Fair Steamship Co, as a ferry running between downtown Chicago, and the grounds of the World's Colum- bian Exposition at Jackson Park. Carried one stack amidships, two masts, and originally had two decks. Hull painted white, stack cream. From 1894 to 1898 ran day excursions to Milwaukee in competition with crack Goodrich flyer VIRGINIA. Bought out by Goodrich in 1898, and continued on this service through 1931. Good- rich added a third deck, and painted the vessel in their traditional black hull and red stack. Probably carried more people than any other Lakes ship. The "old CHRISTOHPER" is held in hal- lowed memory by the thousands who en- joyed her broad decks; am nothing can replaced her in their hearts.
