At this meeting we will have the privilege of once again hearing the experiences of our fellow member, Mr.Norbert Neff. Those who have heard his two previous talks will recommend this as a “must". Our friends and guests are cordially welcome. Our February Meeting will be held on the evening of the 18th, and will be another of our 4llustrated programs. Mark this date now. Robert A.Zeleznik,Secretary ORK KK KK KOK KOK KR KR OK OR OK OK OK KR KOK KR KK OK KK KK KK KK KK KK SHIPS The new car ferry SPARTAN took 30 carloads of beer on her first trip out of Milwaukee, and 32 carloads of paper on her first sailing from Manitowoc. The GORDON C.LEITCH made several trips before the end of the season. The F.A.S.CLARKE (ex H.P.BOPE) will undergo extensive alterations at Buffalo this winter, including repowering, new hatches and deck crane, new bulkheads, deck machinery, stack and cabins. The DETROIT EDISON ( ex ADAM E.CORNELIUS,1) is receiving new boilers. The D.M.CLEMSON made the last sailing from Two Harbors on December 4. The MATTHEW ANDREWS ii (ex FRED G.HARTWELL ii} is receiving a new pilot house at Lorain. The old one is expected to be a summer cottage at Vermillion. The former ferry CADILLAC sailed from Detroftt on December 13th for Hamilton, Ontario, where she will be owned and operated by the Hamilton Harbor Commission. The IMPERIAL CO- BOURG (ex IMPEROYAL) has been sold to Hallet & Carey of Winnepeg, grain brokers. This winter she is being cohverted for dry cargo use at the Muir Brothers yard at Port Dalhousie. The tanker BRITAMOCO will operate during the coming winter between Aruba, Venezuela and Cartagena, Colombia. The new ship under construction at the Davie yards at Lauzon-Levis apparently will be called IRVINGWOOD. She will be owned by K.C.Irving. She will re- semble the.D.C.EVEREST, launched at Kingston in October. Both are cmane- ships. PORT For the benefit of many of our members who like to visit ships LISTS during the winter Yay up, we are endeavoring to provide them with lists of the various lake ports' winter visitors. We will be most grateful to our members who will supply us with this information. We have four such groups herewith, and would like to add more in the next number. Collingwood, Ont.
