ANNOUNCEMENT On Wednesday, November 25th, the evening before Thanksgiving, at 8 p.m. we will meet in Room 311, the small auditorium, of the University of Detroit Library, at the McNichols-Livernois campus. We will have the opportunity to see a series of movies of recent Great Lakes launchings which will be shown by Capt., Tom Candler, of Candler and Rusche, Most of these movies were taken from the tugs of our fellow member, Capt. Frank Becker, who always knows how to maneuver into the best vantage point. As an added attraction, Mr. Fred Kolowich will show us many of the travel movies taken for the D.&C.Lines. All who have seen these recommend them. This meeting provides us with a chance to relive the glorious days of the D.&C. ships, and to watch launchings from a dry spot. Come, and invite your friends. Because past experience has shown the December meeting to be sometimes inconvenient due to the nearness of the Holidays, we are not scheduling one for December this year. Our subsequent meeting then, will be on January 13th, when our fellow member, Capt. Tom Allen of Lakewood, Ohio, Commander of the freighter WILLIAM EDENBORN, will tell us some of the interesting details of the life of a commander in the Pittsburgh Fleet. Do not forget to mark that date on your 1954 calendar. #*% FORE OK RR. FORK, IE 3 2B KK SHIPS The MARYLAND (ex ARTHUR %. NEWBOLD, ex JAMES CORRIGAN) has been sold to Buckeye S.S.Co.
