This ship was rebuilt in 1888 as the CITY OF SANDUSKY, and was scrapped in 1895, when her beam engines went into the new steel ARROW, (DMH v. 2,no.5). The cut is taken from an old letterhead. Going back to our letterhead of last March (V.6, no.7), showing a Saguenay River scene, our fellow member Bob Shepherd of Como, Quebec, an outstanding authority on St.Lawrence River rraft, points out the similarity of the ship shown therein to the Lake Ontario str: TORONTO (see DMH,v.4, no. 5 for picture of TORONTO). Apparently the artist decided a Saguenay cape would be 0.K. as a backdrop. We are grateful for this comment and for Mr. Shepherd's very encouraging praise of your Editor's humble efforts. * RK OK OK KK KK KK KOK OK KK KK KOK KK OK KK KKK KK KK KK KK KK SHIPS The COL.E.M.YOUNG (ex E.M.YOUNG, ex HOOVER and MASON), has been sold to Browning, and will have her boom removed and will operate as a straight bulk freighter under the fame of SPARKMAN FOSTER.
