We will have as our ™ speaker of the evening Captain Frank Becker. We are! having this meeting in w Windsor in honor of Windsor's 160th Anniversary. The Norton Palmer Hotel is approximately two blocks from the Windsor terminal ofthe Tunnel Bus Line. Busses run frequently. Dinner will be served at 6 P.M. The price will be $2.25 which will include tip. Tickets will be purchased at the door. This wooden sidewheeler was built in 1874 at Tranton, Mich., and operated on Toledo and Islands run. The steam tug HENRY STOKES (ex LaRoy Brooks) is now the diesel ABERG. The STEEL KING (ex DELOS W.COOKE, ex STAR- RUCCA - See DMH,Vol7, No.5) has been sold to L.D.WElls Construction Co. ,& will be cut down to a barge and used for heavy construction work. Paterson Steamships, Ltd. has bought the canallers DAMIA and SARACEN. No word on re- names at present. The Interlake freighter C.S.ROBINSON (ex LOFTUS CUDDY) has been sold to Steinbrenner. Ships of six Canadian companies will be pobled to carry approximately 2,000,000 tons of ore from Sept Iles, Quebec to Great Lakes ports this season. The fleets involved are C.S.L.,Paterson, Colonial, Upper Lakes, Hall and eRe Te bons: The Interlake freighter ODANAH and the Pittsburghers SAMUEL F.B.MORSE and GENERAL ORLANDO M.POE have been sold to Wyandotte Transportation Co. All three are expected to be converted @ to barges. Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co are building a new 80 foot steel w diesel tug and two steel dump scows. The JOSEPH H.FRANTZ of Columbia Trans- portation Co. will be repowered next winter at G.L.Engineering Works' Rouge Yard. The Canadian tanker POPLARBRANCH (ex SPRINGBANK PARK) has been put up for sale on an "as is, where is" basis, at Limon Bay, Cristobal, Canal Zone. No indications as to cause of apparent damage to ship.
